Here in the UK it is Mothering Sunday, usually we enjoy a walk around some other town but the weather is absolutely awful here today, freezing cold, rain and now snow! Thursday's visit to London was positively tropical compared, but my two teens made my day brighter with some beautiful flowers, chocolates, seeds to start me off in the greenhouse and...a date with Daniel Craig (Mr 007 himself)!
Yes, I can finally watch Skyfall this afternoon with my latest project on my hook, and NOT feel guilty! I have a massive pile of ironing to do, but that can wait until later so I can relax while the men of the house make me a roast beef dinner. The flowers were beautiful with some lovely roses and the stocks made them smell even sweeter.
In fact, there are lots of nik naks everywhere. I absolutely love their displays. Do you remember they had gingerbread men at Christmas in this little corner? (post here)
And how about this for an Easter display...
I had to take a shot of the bed of primulas. During the summer they do a bed of roses!
So now, I will sign off for this weekend (and also I have just finished half a box of chocolates while I have been writing this post and feel quite ill !). Thank you all for visiting, following and commenting on my London post, you are all so kind. The photos were not brilliant and I do promise I will be back there soon. Mr Teenager is going there with the school next week so no doubt I will have some 'London Part 2's' next week, but this will be the East London side near the Docklands (my favourite place!).
For those in the UK, Happy Mother's Day. And for those in other glorious parts of the world, I hope you get a chance to be spoilt at some point today. You are all amazing.
Have a wonderful week.
Take care.

We have always had the tradition of spending time with my Grandma, My Mom, and sister...My Grandma has past now and both my sister and I have children so the tradition has continued. Glad you had a lovely Mother's day. Garden centres are great for browsing aren't they. Yours looks like it's got loads of nice things. I saw your comment somewhere about spam mail, have you tried changing your settings to "registered users only" it's worked for me :)
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely flowers! And dinner cooked for you! Lucky Mother! In France Mother's Day is later in spring.
ReplyDeleteChel, your Mother's Day post is lovely! I hope you've recovered from the chocolate overload :)
ReplyDeleteHello, I'm visiting by link from Brenda's Cozy Little House and it's nice to be able to see pictures of London. I visit Devon through my friend Maureen's blog at Random Distractions and love seeing pictures of the coast there. I hope the movie is good, sure it will be and can't wait to see it myself. I also read your post on no-reply and several of the blogs I follow have that problem. I did myself and didn't realize it but a kind blogger pointed it out and helped me fix it. It is so nice when bloggers help other bloggers.
ReplyDeleteHello! I'm visiting from Brenda's Cozy Little House. I'm also one of the featured bloggers. I absolutely loved seeing your pictures of the prims. I had them all over my yard in California but haven't seen them here in Virginia. I miss them much! They were one of my favorite flowers. I look forward to getting to know you through blogland!
ReplyDeleteBlessings & Hugs ...

Happy Mother's Day to you! Ours is still a ways off. your shops are so beautifully decorated for your special day, they look so inviting, and stuffed with wonderful finds! I've had a happy visit and will be back! I'm your newest follower.
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy Mother's Day, dear Chel! Great that you had such a nice day and caring children :-). I'll have to wait a little, German Mother's Day is in May ;-).
ReplyDeleteHi Chel, I am so happy to have found your blog!! I was once in England on your Mother's Day, had a wonderful time traveling with my family (we were in York that day!), then came home and had another fun Mother's Day here! I was quite spoiled that year. I just love the UK and have spent many memorable vacations there. Both my kids did some college time in Scotland and I was able to go over and do a little more traveling there. I am looking forward to many more of your posts and I will be scrolling back through to see what I have missed. Your newest follower from the USA, Linda
