I love collecting autumnal trinkets for the house. These exquisite conkers will fill a glass vase to give a real rustic feel to the dining table. Don't you think that the one still in its casing looks like a lizard's eye?
I love conkers. We call them chestnuts over here in New England. I used to have a tree nearby and would collect them while I was walking of an afternoon. There are no trees near me now and I miss having a basket of conkers on the dining room table.
I love that you call them 'conkers' over there. lol We just call them chestnuts. I have one that I found somewhere. Their shells are so interesting aren't they.
Thank you so much for visiting, I love reading your comments and will answer either by email or on the blog. You can also email me privately in my side bar. Have a great day x
I'm Chel, a proud Londoner now living in Lincolnshire blogging about the everyday, no matter what the weather! I share my life with my two teens and our rescue dog Tia. I love photography, crafts, gardening, cooking and going on trips here and there (London especially!). Grab yourself a cup of tea and share with me my ramblings. As my Grandad used to say, "So, where shall we go on our journey today?" let's see...

ReplyDeleteThose are a wonderful fall decor item! The one in the casing does look like a lizards eye!
ReplyDeleteSo shouldn't you be stringing them and playing that good old English game called conkers with them
ReplyDeleteConkers always remind me of being a small boy...nostalgia's not what it used to be, though.
ReplyDeleteThat took me back to my childhood, playing conkers.
ReplyDeleteI knew something was wrong - I haven't pocketed any conkers yet this year!
