Each morning I see this old, rusty piece of farm machinery dip into the deep dykes and pull out the tired and overgrown vegetation from the water. Each morning it has moved along the fen's drains just that little bit more. A slow process but incredibly necessary with the cold and wet months ahead.
It's a never-ending job. Of course a lot of the weed is only there because they put so much nitrogen fertiliser on the fields.
ReplyDeleteMuch the same here along the dyke, a never ending job.
ReplyDeleteYes, also in the Netherlands it´s a never ending job, they just were working in the canal in front of our house last week.
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting piece of equipment. Wondered what it was for.
