Those of you who have been kind and read my blog for a little while will know that I very often go on my little excursions with my Mumsy. We love disappearing for a while and walking around old towns and buildings, as well as the obvious craft fair or two. I am very lucky to have a mum who is more of a sister to me. This wonderful lady has brought me and my brothers up with such patience, love and understanding but still kept her distance when she knew we needed space, enough for us to make our own decisions in life and never to interfere. Yes, there are some things that she didn't agree with, but she kept her opinions close to her chest to make us learn from our own mistakes. Both her and my Dad now live a small distance away (no more travelling down to London to see them!) and our trips are always excitingly planned and thoroughly enjoyed, both with cameras clicking away.
Today she is of an age that the Beatles sang all those years ago... "When I'm ??" I won't actually write the age!
She is patient, generous, caring and funny... oh so funny! We laugh until we cry, and then laugh again later when it is even more funnier. When we go out there is always some sort of drama and to have someone to laugh along to make things better is always such bonus.
Now, can I be cheeky and ask a favour of you all? It's her birthday, and she reads my blog and comments so please give her a Happy Birthday message. She is such a special lady and this would swell her heart so much!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMSY!!
I love you with all my heart.

It is said that before we are born we choose our parents - the ones who will be best for us and teach us the lessons we need to learn in life. So Cheryl, I congratulate you wholeheartedly on your excellent choice of Mum, and wish your Mum a very happy birthday! May it be the start of another year full of fun and giggles and more memorable outings!

Happy Birthday Chel's Mumsy - and many happy returns.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely daughter so I know all she says about you is true. It's not easy being a mum, we all try hard to be the best and I guess as long as we do that, and our children can acknowledge that fact, we are doing OK.
Chel, I love that you and your mum are close and have such fun times together.
Love, Mary
Happy Birthday to your MUM. I wish mine were around to share her birthday, May 22 would have been her 86th. We enjoyed sewing and just being silly, I miss her so much. Love to your MUM for Mother's Day also.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Chel's Mumsy!!!

Happy Birthday to your mum Chel! Its lovely that you go and about with each, and great news that your parents now live nearby. We have MiL up once a month and the OH drives down to London to pick her up on Friday evening after work and we then take her back Sunday evening. We would love to have her live up here in Suffolk but she is a 'London girl' through and through! She is always amazed that you can drive through villages and there is no one to be seen, unlike the heaving pavements of Leyton!
