The Extraordinary in the Ordinary #1 - The Beauty of a Rusty Gate

The Extraordinary in the Ordinary #1 @ www.sweetbriardreams.blogspot.co.uk

Sometimes something captures my imagination and I see something extraordinary in the ordinary.  While waiting for the bus this morning on a very grey, foggy and wet start to the day, I noticed this old rusty gate by the church yard that I stand next to each morning while waiting for my transport to arrive.  The droplets of water hanging onto the spiders web which had weaved into the curves of the rusty gate, along with the grave stones in the background.  This image made my heart sing.

It's amazing how different something looks when you see the extraordinary within.

Never take things for granted.

  1. It's often the most simplistic things that hve the most beauty. We just have to have our eyes ready to see them. Thanks for the reminder! Have a blessed day.

  4. I was sitting quietly here, slowly scrolling down my "favorites" list, and this simply caught my imagination and mind---what a delightfully simple, yet world-in-a-whirl moment!

Chris was just behind me at the bookcase, and I reached back gently and took his arm, turning him and saying, "Look what we'd NEVER have seen except for this wonderful way to connect." We gazed at the beautiful of it, seeing the intricate, painstaking work, the dewdrops, the work of Time and rust, and the iron-work of long-ago, now-stilled hands. What a lovely quiet moment together, and i thought you should know what an impression this made.

    Thank you!

  11. Isn't that pretty! Who'd have thought something so pretty could be "just" a rusty gate, spider's web and gravestones?

  18. Spiders are indeed nature's lace-makers. Other than that, I do not like them at all.
